Why you should get kids involved in housekeeping ASAP

Dr. B – Participating in household chores should start as early as possible.

A two-year-old can carry a small waste paper basket out to the trash, bring silverware to the table for dinner, can help put away groceries or carry folded laundry into various rooms.

Yes, it does slow down finishing these tasks (A LOT!), but we must remember that participating in the ongoing upkeep of the home needs to start early.

Each of these tasks gives you, the parent, an opportunity to teach a skill and gives your child an opportunity to develop self-esteem!
